Keynote Speaker: Dr. Mitchell Lew

Dr. Mitchell Lew is the current CEO of Prospect Medical Systems, an independent physician association with a network of primary care physicians, specialists, and affiliated hospitals throughout Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties. In May 2012, he became the first Asian-American president of the USC Alumni Board of Governors. Previously, he served as president of the USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association (APAA) from 2009 to 2011. Lew, who hold’s a bachelor’s in biological sciences from the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, worked for 10 years in private practice in obstetrics and gynecology before moving over to the business side of medicine. He serves on the Board of Councilors at USC Dornsife and the USC Associates Board of Directors.For more information on Dr. Mitchell Lew, check out this link.

2015-2016 SHC Board Election Information

USC Student Health Council is looking for energetic, bright, dedicated leaders for the 2015-2016 school year! Elections are open for President, Vice President, and five Director positions on the SHC Board. Descriptions for all positions and an organizational chart are attached to this email.
 
PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT ELECTION INFORMATION
Nominations for President and Vice President will open on Sunday, March 22nd and close on Wednesday, March 25th at 5:00 PM. All nominees for President and Vice President will be notified via email the evening of Wednesday, March 25th. Each nominee will have until Friday, March 27th to confirm their candidacy and pick an interview time slot. All President and Vice President interviews will take place on Sunday, March 29th. The President and Vice President announcements will take place following the interviews.

FIVE DIRECTOR POSITIONS ELECTION INFORMATION
Nominations for the five Director positions will open on Monday, March 30th and close on Friday, April 3rd at 5:00 PM. All nominees for the five Director positions will be notified via email the evening of Friday, April 3rd and will be given the opportunity to select a maximum of one position to run for. Candidates will be given until 5 PM on Sunday, April 5th to confirm their candidacy and submit a VERY BRIEF statement of goals, experience, and reasons for running (250-300 words MAX). Voting will open to all MHA and EMHA students on Monday, April 6th and will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, April 10th. Results will be announced on Sunday, April 12th.

The USC Student Health Council (SHC) is hosting an introductory Excel workshop with Fuong Huynh, an MHA alumna. Fuong Huynh is currently a Quality Improvement Coordinator III at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The workshop will be focusing on the use of dashboards and pivot tables. Please bring your own laptop. Space is limited!
